The Newborn Session Experience

Welcoming a new baby into your family is one of the most precious moments in life, and I am honored to capture those first few weeks with beautiful, timeless images. My goal is to create a relaxed, enjoyable experience for you and your family while ensuring your newborn is safe, comfortable, and beautifully posed. Here’s what you can expect when booking your newborn session with me:

Scheduling Your Newborn Session

To ensure availability, it’s best to schedule your newborn session before your baby arrives. I typically plan sessions when the baby is between 1-3 weeks old, as this is the best time to capture those sleepy, curled-up poses. If your baby has already arrived and you haven’t booked yet, don’t worry—I’ll do my best to accommodate you!

Everything You Need Is Provided

I provide all newborn outfits, props, swaddles, wraps, and blankets needed for your session. You don’t have to worry about bringing anything for baby—just arrive and enjoy the experience! For moms, I have a beautiful collection of gowns available, perfect for creating beautiful and elegant portraits with your newborn, but feel free to keep it simple and just wear whatever you want. I also offer a small selection of dresses for girls up to age 14.

Including the Whole Family

Newborn sessions aren’t just about baby—they’re about celebrating your entire family! Parents, siblings, grandparents, and even pets are welcome to be included in the session. My large studio has plenty of space to accommodate everyone comfortably, and I love incorporating the whole family into these special moments.

Session Length & What to Expect

Newborn sessions typically last around 2 hours, but we take our time to ensure a relaxed and stress-free experience. We allow for plenty of breaks for feeding, changing, and soothing baby as needed. Nothing is rushed, and we always prioritize baby’s comfort and well-being.

Preparing for Your Session

To help baby be extra sleepy and relaxed for the session: Try to keep baby awake for about an hour before the session. Feed baby right before arriving to encourage sleepiness. Bring a pacifier, even if baby doesn’t usually use one, as it can help me to soothe them between poses. Don’t worry if baby is fussy or cries—this is completely normal! We will take our time, help baby feel comfortable, and take breaks as needed to ensure a smooth session.

Personalizing Your Session

I will create a beautiful variety of images during your session, but if you have any special ideas, sentimental items, or specific shots in mind, please let me know in advance so we can incorporate them into your session!

Expert Care & Safety

As a trained newborn photographer, I have extensive experience working with infants and have received specialized training beyond regular photography to ensure that your baby is safe and comfortable at all times. Additionally, as a mom of four children, I am incredibly comfortable handling babies and understand their needs. Safety is always my top priority, and you can feel confident knowing your little one is in experienced, caring hands.
