I just ordered some new samples for the studio. A large 30 x 40 fine art canvas, a 20 x 30 mounted fuji matte print and a 16 x 20 also a mounted fuji matte print. I’ve seen these images hundreds of times on my computer as I was editing them, but every time I walk past this 80 inch mantel, I stop and look at them. Why? Because a fine art print is more beautiful than anything you would see on a screen. You can see right into their eyes and count every razor sharp eyelash and see the texture of the skin. A print is tangible and finished. I heard someone say that a digital file is an ingredient of an unfinished photo. The printed image is complete. It is so important to print your images to see them in their true art form!
Printed images are classic and timeless and, if printed correctly, should last a lifetime. A printed image expands the lifetime of that image, whereas when you post an image on social media, it gets some attention for a day or so, but then it is quickly forgotten and never to be thought of again. Studies show that when children see family images that include themselves on the walls of their home, it increases their self esteem. Most of my clients purchase digital images, but they also love that I custom design heirloom quality photo albums of their maternity and newborn sessions and offer fine art canvases and prints. It is important that your lab’s printers are color matched to the photographer’s images, in order to create correct color. I remember that after having my babies, the last thing I would want to do is sit down and try to design a photo album, so I love that I can offer that to clients.
All of my products are printed on archival paper and are heirloom quality, which means they are guaranteed to last a lifetime and be able to be passed down to the next generation. If you are interested in preserving these early moments of motherhood that will pass by so quickly, and create original works of art with one of Plano’s most talented newborn photographers, you can contact me here to start the process.
